[ Someone... worse than his own darkness that already causes him to feel fear? ]

Ven... [ a pause, being unsure if he should say this or not. ] ...do you need me there?

....I don't know.

[It sounds almost heartbreaking to admit it, but even with the words, Riku might detect a hint of a plea underneath it.]

voice;

[ Ven doesn't need to say it... he can almost feel it through this means of communication and that alone has him sitting up in bed. ]

Where are you?

voice;

[brokenlight]

Snow White's house.

[But if Riku decides to come find him--

Ventus decides to just quietly leave the house instead. He doesn't want to disturb the others.]

Can we...meet at the docks?

voice;

[shadowedheart]

[ The docks... it's strange how it's become somewhat of a... meeting place of theirs as of late and without even really meaning to.

However, Riku gets himself out of bed and sees to it that he dresses a little more properly if he's to go outside now. ]

I'll see you at the docks then.

voice;

[brokenlight]

See you there.

[Since he's become so familiar with the docks, he makes it there in record time. He waits for Riku, staring at the waters and letting the sound of the waves soothe him.]

voice;

[shadowedheart]

[ With Ventus having arrived first, Riku comes to stop a little ways from the docks when he spots the blond. It's only after a moment that he comes up behind Ventus and stands there, looking down to him. ]

Are you up for traveling?

Traveling?

[Ven is surprised, turning to look at him.] Where?

To my room.

[ He knows it's... perhaps not the most ideal of places considering who he lives with (when he's there) but... well, he had an idea. ]

Everyone else is asleep. They won't know you're there.

[brokenlight]

... [That makes him even more surprised.]

Are you sure? [It's not a no. Just...surprise.]

[shadowedheart]

I'll seal the door with a dark shield for extra protection if you want.

[ And he will... really. ]

I'm hardly ever there, so it's not like they expect me to be around.

[brokenlight]

I don't mind--it's just a little unexpected.

[But he still doesn't say no to the idea.

Maybe...being in that house might help.]

[shadowedheart]

I won't force you if you don't want to.

[ He glances down to Ventus as he says that and, judging from the tone of his voice, he means it. ]

[brokenlight]

[Ven shakes his head.]

No, it's alright. I want to.

[shadowedheart]

Alright.

[ Gesturing for Ven to follow then, he steps away from the docks. ]

It's not too far a walk.

[brokenlight]

Just lead the way.

[He'll follow.

If they really do end up waking anyone, he'll apologize to them.]

[ The walk itself isn't as long much as Riku said and while the majority of it is met with silence aside from the idle chatter of how "it's not too far now", there's a sort of... comfort? Perhaps security within that silence, something that he feels he doesn't entirely need to explain to Ven... it's more of a presence thing, he thinks.

When they do arrive at the house, the one he knows Ventus has been to with seeing the snoozing Sora, he comes to glance back to the blond before he opens the door to let him inside. ]

Are you ok?

[brokenlight]

[Ven slips inside, giving a shrug at the question.]

I'm not sure. Might be shaken up.

[He thinks so, at least. Ventus isn't sure. Then again, he's never been good at really detecting his own emotions when it really comes down to it.]

[shadowedheart]

[ Gently, he makes sure to shut and lock the door behind them once they're inside and, without really needing to guide Ventus anywhere, he makes his way up the stairs for the room that has been claimed as his own.

Just as he said, everyone else is either out or asleep and it's only with a quick peek inside Sora's room to see if he's still snoozing or not (he is) that he quietly opens the door to his own room... and allows Ventus to look inside.

Prior to coming out and meeting Ventus at the docks (which might have been why Ventus got there first), Riku had quickly thrown together something for the blond within his room. That something being a blanket fort. ]

[Even if it's just being in the house, Ventus can feel Sora's light even in a crystallized state and it's reassuring in its own way.

But he doesn't fully relax until they're in Riku's room, only to stop by the door when he notices the fort.]

What's this for?

You said you were having nightmares.

[ Riku says this softly as he comes to cross his arms and lean against the doorframe. ]

I thought maybe a blanket fort could protect you from them.

[brokenlight]

[Oh, that's...sweet.

It makes Ven smile.]

[ It's not a fancy sort of blanket fort at all and there's nothing fancy about the sheets or pillows used either but... it's the thought that counts? Riku did make sure to put a lamp inside the fort, along with the plush stuffy of Peromei that Sora had given him shortly after he first arrived. ]

Did you... want anything to eat or drink? There's probably stuff downstairs I can bring up for you if you do.

[ Leftovers from Arden's cooking, he's sure. ]

No, I’m fine.

[He pauses before looking at him.]

Gonna come into the fort with me?

[shadowedheart]

If you want me to.

[ It's with that, however, that he gently comes to shut the door and press his back against it, looking to the blond. ]

I don't have any games or anything to bring inside it though.
